Type is everywhere. From fashion to art, film to…football.

It’s true, we’ve sponsored a number of things since we started, from ICG market research lunches, to goody bags at the IIEX shows. We believe typing need not be limited to the office environment.

We hadn’t pictured ourselves on the pitch before, but when Vinters FC approached us with a request for sponsorship of their Under 13 team, we wanted to get involved.

Corporate sponsorship of football clubs helps provide fun outdoor activities for kids, helping them get the benefits of sport from a young age.  And as typists we surely know the importance of going outside and getting the stink off us a few times a week!

Many Take Noters are eager football fans, getting regularly stuck in to our transcriber fantasy football league, and it’s hardly surprising when you consider the shared footballer/typist skill set – pace, agility, accuracy and focus. Need we say more?!

About the Team

Vinters FC is home of the Green Park, Rangers and Valley teams in Maidstone, Kent. Henry Jayes, son of our Take Note accountant Vicki, is part of the U13 squad, taking up a defence position on the team.

Their manager is Steve, their coach is Paul and Vicki (an ex netballer) masterminds the warm up and goalie training.

It’s a completely new team this season, with some of them having only just taken up the sport. It seems they are improving every game and there has been a massive improvement since September.

More about Vinters FC

Who: The Vinters Valley Under 13 team.

How often they play: Once a week, either home or away. Training is on Thursday evenings and matches are played on Sunday mornings.

The great thing is they really are looking stronger as a team, so we are all excited about next season as we’re confident we will see a change in the scoreline.  Some of the later scores didn’t reflect how well they played.  They have two matches left, one on the 9th April the other in May these are the cancelled games.  It’s pretty clear they will come bottom but at least the only way is up!!  Come on the green army.

Latest Match Commentary:

20/03/16: The Valley vs Loose Lions Rovers

It was a loss sadly, but the team deserved to win as they played amazingly.  It was nil – nil at half time so all the action was in the 2nd half. The pitch was on a real incline so they were playing up hill for the 2nd half and with tired legs they really did hold out well.  Defence were tight throughout and passing was accurate. Score 3-1.

06/03/16: The Valley vs. Loose Lions

An away game for the team. Some brilliant moments throughout the match. Unfortunately beaten by one of the leading teams. Score 0 – 10

21/02/16: The Valley vs. Sittingbourne

A win to the team in a fantastic game! Score 2-1.

07/02/16: The Valley vs. Loose Lions

A home game this time against the second best team in the league. A good performance but sadly outplayed. Score 1-11.

23/01/16: The Valley vs. Longfield Tigers

A great team performance against a strong team see The Valley draw their first game of the season 7-7. 4 goals from George, 1 from Aaron and 2 own goals.  3 great saves from Mason.

We’ll be keeping you updated via the blog with regular updates on the team’s progress.
